Meet Tamid’s Leaders

Tamid’s innovative spirit has a clergy, staff, and faculty of Jewish professionals who are post-denominational and comfortable in a multi-cultural setting. They believe that Judaism can have a positive effect in the lives of children, families, and the world. We strive to accomplish this through learning, community building, pastoral care, and life-cycle observances (baby naming ceremonies, b’nai mitzvah services, weddings and funerals.

Rabbi Feivel Strauss, Tamid Palm Beach

Rabbi Feivel Strauss is the founding rabbi of Tamid Palm Beach. Raised in Boca Raton, Florida, he spent fifteen years living and studying in Israel, where he learned at Yeshivat HaMivtar and Yeshivat HaGolan, served in the Israel Defense Forces as a lone soldier in the Golani Brigade, and earned his BA and MA in Jewish History from Bar-Ilan University. He received rabbinic ordination from the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem and belongs to the Central Conference of American Rabbis.

Rabbi Feivel Strauss is a teacher, storyteller, and community builder who helps people connect Jewish tradition with everyday life.As a rabbi, he has served as a campus rabbi, congregational rabbi, and hospice chaplain. He served as a rabbi at The Ohio State University Hillel and in congregational and educational roles, including in Memphis and in Palm Beach Gardens, before founding Tamid as an independent home for Positive Judaism. He serves as a hospice chaplain and on the ethics board of Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, and he is active in interfaith life across the community. As a writer and teacher, he explores Jewish spirituality, Israel, and meaning in modern life, including the ethics of artificial intelligence, with essays in The Times of Israel.

Feivel is married to Cantor Abbie Strauss, his partner in building Tamid, and is the devoted father of Joe, Eden, and Elijah. He is also a lifelong tennis player.

Cantor Abbie Strauss, Tamid Palm Beach

Cantor Abbie Strauss is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, recording artist, and the musical heart of Tamid Palm Beach. A proud member of the Grammy Recording Academy and of the Cantors Assembly, where she serves on the executive committee, she has spent two decades building musical communities in synagogues, religious schools, and Jewish summer camps. She is a graduate of Indiana University and holds a Master’s in Education.

Abbie founded the Institute of Jewish Rock and Judaism: Inside Out, a music philosophy that engages the mind, body, and soul and draws people, especially young people, into Jewish life through song. She has recorded six albums available on all streaming platforms, was among the first artists featured on Jewish Rock Radio, and hosts Sing Your BlesSings on JKids Radio and Shir Chadash through the Cantors Assembly. Her work reaches well beyond the sanctuary, from the Healing Arts Project, performing for local hospitals, to the stage of the Kravis Center and national broadcasts on JLTV.

Her artistic voice is one of hope and light, an invitation to shine on and to find healing and belonging through music. She is married to Rabbi Feivel Strauss and loves making music with their three children, Joe, Eden, and Elijah.

Rabbi Darren Levine, D. Min, Tamid NYC
Darren holds ordination from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and a Doctorate in Ministry from the Post-Graduate Center for Mental Health. Darren is a devoted father, has three sons, and was formerly the Assistant Rabbi at Temple Shaaray Tefila in New York City – and was a Chaplain Officer in the US Army. He is a member of the Central Conference of American Rabbis and the International Positive Psychology Association and works closely with the Interfaith Community of New York. Rabbi Scott Weiner, Tamid Westchester
Scott Weiner was ordained as a rabbi by the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion in 2004. Prior to founding Tamid Westchester, Scott was the Senior Rabbi at Temple Israel of New Rochelle for 11 years and the Rabbi of the Hebrew Tabernacle Congregation in Manhattan for 5 years. He is also a former camp director, youth director, and Israel guide. Rabbi Scott is the immediate Past-President of the Inter-religious Coalition of New Rochelle and is a member of the CCAR. Christina Broussard, RJE, Director of Education, Tamid NYC
Christina is originally from Louisiana and holds a Master’s Degree in Jewish Education and Organizational Management. Prior to her appointment as Tamid’s first Director of Education, Christina served two of the most innovative and well recognized synagogues on the East Coast. She was the Youth Director at Temple Israel in Boston and served as the Associate Director of the Religious School at Temple B’nai Jeshrun in Short Hills, NJ. cbroussard@tamidnyc.org.
